Attorney Biography
I began my career trying criminal cases while in law school attending Mississippi College. I have been a Harvard University Law School Ames Moot Court Judge, and have spoken before the first year law students at Harvard University, on the subject of Tennessee trial practice. From these experiences I realize that most people are not familiar with how the Tennessee courts work, and how their case is among many other cases on any given day that are before the court. It is for this reason that I work to be diligent and thorough in advising the client of their choices and consequences.
I appeared before a criminal court jury in representation of a client for first degree murder when I was 26. Since that time I have appeared in front of juries in Tennessee on charges ranging from a Nashville DUI, to Tennessee First Degree Murder charge. I believe to be a diligent Tennessee criminal lawyer you must review all the facts both good and bad to your client, you must give your client an honest opinion of what you think there choices might be, and what could be the consequences of the charges they are facing in a Tennessee Criminal Court.
I have represented individuals in Tennessee Courts including General Sessions, Davidson County General Sessions, Tennessee Criminal Court, Tennessee Circuit Court, Tennessee Chancery Court, Court of Appeals, and Federal Court. It is important to have the knowledge of how a case begins in the Tennessee Courts, from Tennessee warrants, citations, and criminal indictments, to the first appearance in Tennessee General Sessions Courts all the way through Tennessee Criminal Court and Appeal.
